The cutout style is mounted on a 3/4" sheet of birch that has been hand cut to the same shape as the United States. As you can see in the photo, there is about a 1/4" to 1/2" border outside the edges of the plates. The birch background can be done in any color- specify background color when you order in the Notes section. Size- approx 56 x 36, includes Alaska and Hawaii on separate pieces.
